The Pedaler

Victoria By Bike Promo

  • BUDGET: $1,500-$2,000

Last spring we began working with a unique cycling tour company in Victoria, The Pedaler. Founders Rose Lee and Paul Rayman have pulled together all of our favourite things within their tours: namely food, history, parks, beer, and cycling in Victoria. It's perfect!

In addition to capturing a day riding among the cherry blossoms, later in the summer we got together with Rose, Paul, and their volunteers to showcase what The Pedaler had to offer those who sign up for a tour.

We started in beautiful Beacon Hill Park, a part of their Castles, Hoods & Legends tour, and made a stop at what was once the world's tallest totem pole to hear about its history before meandering through the park and watching the ducks swim.

Then, it was on to Spinnakers Brewpub as a part of their Hoppy Hour Ride, which showcases Victoria's booming microbrewery industry - nothing beats enjoying a pint of their Oyster Stout while looking out onto a busy Inner Harbour. The Pedaler's Eat.Drink.Pedal's tour was then showcased with a stop at Kid Sister, where we took a break from shooting the action to enjoy their tiramisu ice cream - best decision ever.

The riders then continued on to experience some of Victoria's richest history, with a stop at Craigdarroch Castle, created by coal baron Robert Dunsmuir in 1890. This was also a part of the Castles, Hoods & Legends tour, before the riders finished the day with a feast -- pizza and wine from Zambri's. It was a great way to complete their day.

After as the sun set, Rose and Paul took a moment to explain to us the philosophy behind The Pedaler, and why it is such a rewarding experience to visitors and locals to Victoria as well as to them. We couldn't agree more and encourage you to pop by their new location located at 321 Belleville Street to experience their passion for cycling in the city yourselves.
